It's great to see that Lyme Disease research continues to be picked up by the scientific media. Having seen first hand the devastating effects that Chronic Lyme Disease has on people of all ages, research into the disease, prevention, diagnosis and treatment can't happen fast enough.
"Many efforts to combat Lyme disease have focused on trying to control those ticks, but they have been difficult to put in practice," said Lyme disease pioneer Alan Barbour, M.D. "So we decided that instead we should look at the animal carrying it."
