Data transparency and publication ethics have been hot topics in healthcare for as long as I care to remember, but until now this has been difficult to translate to publications in a conference setting.
As part of a steering group of publication professionals, and in consultation with congresses and professional societies, we have developed some guidelines to underlay the principles for best practice for medical conference publications and attempted to provide guidance on the practicalities for navigating conference requirements.

Research that has been sponsored by pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies is often presented at scientific and medical conferences. However, practices vary between organizations and it can be difficult to follow both individual conference requirements and good publication practice guidelines. Until now, no specific guidelines or recommendations have been available to describe best practice for conference presentations.
